The Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) awards Certificates nationally to individuals who provide employment services to people with disabilities. The Certificate documents that the individual has satisfactorily completed a minimum of 40 hours of training or professional development provided by an ACRE-approved training resource. Virginia Commonwealth University’s Region III CRP-RCEP is a member of ACRE, and our trainings count towards the needed 40 hours to achieve a National Certificate. Individuals who enroll in and attend VCU’s trainings will be able to track their progress and receive the National Certificate in Employment Services.

The following represents the minimum number of hours established by ACRE for specific content areas of training. These hours must be completed and certified by VCU in order for an individual to earn credit towards a certificate.
In addition, an individual will need to complete 14 hours in the above categories to complete the full 40 hours of training.
Individuals completing the VCU, ACRE-approved training programs will receive documentation reflecting the competency areas and number of completed hours of training. Once the individual has completed the specified amount and scope of training, he/she will be eligible for a Certificate of Achievement. VCU will report the information and demographics to ACRE‘s national database. Because ACRE distributes this certification across the nation, Certificates of Achievement will be portable from organization to organization, city to city, and state to state.
